Ophelia Bernice McCanse was born June 22, 1906 in Tuttle, Grady County, Oklahoma, the daughter of Alonzo Hershel "Lon" West and Olive Elizabeth Davison. Known to her family as "Bernice," she married Delbert Arthur McCanse on August 22, 1925 in Oregon.
