John Mackie

John Mackie lived in Surry County, North Carolina in the early 19th century. He and his wife Naomi (Moffat) Mackie had at least two known children: Ruth Mackie (who married Simon Martin in 1818) and Robert Mackie (b. 1794, d. 1872, who married Anna Martin). Both the Hadley genealogy and the 1840 federal census for Surry County NC confirm John Mackie's presence in the same community as the Martin family, corroborating the close ties between these families.
